The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education came into existence in 1969 through an Act No.14 of 1968. Until 1982, the Board had its headquarter at Shimla, which was subsequently shifted to Dharamshala in Kangra District in 1983. The Headquarter of Education Board Dharamshala is located at the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of western Himalayas overlooking picturesque Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh.
To begin with, the Board had only 34 officials on its establishment which strength has now increased to 438. The first examination was conducted by the Board in 1970 at 99 examination centres. Presently, keeping in view the increased number of candidates and typical geographical conditions of the Pradesh, the Board has set up 1650 Examination centres throughout the State. Apart from a Liaison Office at Shimla, the Board has also established 19 Sale Book Depots/Information Centres in the Pradesh to cater to the needs of students. The general public can contact any of these offices as per their convenience for seeking any information through telephone, the number of which are available in the Telephone Directory .

Christ University Exams Postponed
The Exams scheduled for Saturday 22 , January, 2011 are postponed to Tuesday 25, January, 2011.
The other exams already scheduled for Monday 24 & Tuesday 25 January, 2011 will have no change.
All students of Post Graduate Programmes, School of Law and Faculty of Engineering who do not have exams on 24, Monday 2011 or 25, Tuesday 2011 will have regular classes from 24, Monday 2011.

Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya University
The University formerly known as Bhopal University was established in 1970 in the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. In 1988, it was rechristened as the Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, in the living memory of the great freedom fighter, Prof. Barkatullah belongs to Bhopal.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the dates for class Xth and XIIth board exams to be held in March and April 2011. The countdown for the Board exams 2011 has begun. The Board exams for Class X will commence from March 1 with the Indian Language Exams like Tamil, Urdu, French etc. followed by Punjabi, Malayalam on March 3. The exams for Class X will get over on March 25 with Music paper. The first paper of Class XII, Phsics will be on March 1 and the exams will continue till April 13. The detailed date sheet can accessed after clicking the desired class.

The Board was set up in the year 1921 at Allahabad by an act of United Provinces Legislative Council. It conducted its first examination in 1923. This Board is one in India which, from the very start, had adopted 10+2 system of examination. The first public examination after 10 years education is High School Examination and after the 10+2 stage, there is Intermediate Examination. Prior to 1923, University of Allahabad was the examining body of these two examinations.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has had a glorious past of 75 years. During 1923, the Lee Commission had recommended setting up of a Central Public Service Commission in India, but it did not give much thought to the need of establishing similar commissions in provinces.
The Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of being the only province in India to establish the first Service Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members, including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year 1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

The Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University was established at Nanded by bi-furcating the Marathwada University, Aurangabad on 17th September 1994, the day on which in 1948 Hyderabad State was liberated from rule of the Nizam. Nanded is a district headquarters as well as a holy city situated on the banks of Godavari River in southeastern part of Maharashtra state.
Nanded is directly approachable by road and train from Aurangabad (270 km) and Hyderabad (270 km), Nagpur (350 km), Mumbai (600 km) and Delhi (1700 km). Weekly three flights run between Mumbai and Nanded.
