CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS)
Positions available in a Research Project on “Cryptology, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis and Applications
We have undertaken a research project of five years duration on “Cryptology, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis and Applications”, in which, we have the following positions:
1. Principal Research Scientist (01 post): Equivalent to Professor grade in IITs/IISc. Pay Scale PB4(Rs.37,400 – 67,000), with minimum basic at Rs. 48,000 and AGP of Rs. 10,500. Gross emoluments at the starting point of pay scale are at Rs. 1,05,575.
Essential Qualifications:
i) Ph.D degree in Maths/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics.
ii) At least 5 years experience in Cryptology, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis and Applications with special emphasis on knowledge of existing SAT solvers and their possible applications OR Design of Stream and Block Ciphers OR Development of fast algorithms and their implementation OR Design of secret sharing schemes.
Desirable Qualifications : Quality research publications
2. Senior Research Scientist (Gde – I), (01 post): Equivalent to Associate Professor grade in IITs / IISc. Pay Scale PB4(Rs. 37,400-67,000). Gross emoluments at the starting point of pay scale are Rs. 89,495.
Essential Qualifications:
i) Ph.D degree in Maths/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics.
ii) At least 3 years experience in Cryptology, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis and Applications with special emphasis on knowledge of existing SAT solvers and their possible applications OR Design of Stream and Block Ciphers OR Development of fast algorithms and their implementation OR Design of secret sharing schemes.
Desirable Qualifications : Quality research publications
3. Senior Research Scientist (Gde – II), (01 post) : Equivalent to Assistant Professor grade in IITs/IISc, Pay Scale PB3(Rs.15,600 – 39,100). Gross emoluments at the starting of the pay scale are Rs. 65,900 per month.
Essential Qualifications:
i) Ph.D degree in Maths/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics.
Desirable Qualifications : Quality research publications
4. Research Associate, (02 posts): gross emoluments at Rs. 29,900/- per month.
Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Maths/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics with specialization in any one of the areas connected to Cryptology, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis and Applications.
5. Senior Research Fellow (SRF): (04 posts): gross emoluments at Rs. 26,000 per month.
Educational Qualifications :
i) M.Tech/M.E. degree in Electronics or Computer Science with working knowledge in cryptology, cryptography, cryptanalysis and applications

2) Associate Professor : A minimum of six years of research / professional experience of which three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or an equivalent position in a premier and reputed research organization or industry as on the date of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M.Tech. and PhD students, publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory/course development, and other professional R & D and academic activities.
3) Assistant Professor : A minimum of three years research / professional experience in a premier and reputed organization excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Candidates should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences. Eligible candidates with less than the requisite experience may be taken as “Assistant Professor on Contract”.

Scientific Officer - Genetic Resources :
Responsibilities:
* Characterization, classification, regeneration, and evaluation of sorghum and small millet germplasm accessions.
* Data collection and organizing research operations in field and glass house.
* Analysis of data, data management, and preparing draft reports.
* Assist the scientist in managing research program.
Requirements:
* Post Graduate from a reputed university in botany/ plant breeding/genetics with 1-2 years of experience in field-based research at a research institute/university/private sector company, with good aptitude for field work.
* Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Statistical skills in analyzing large data sets and communication skills in English (both written and oral)
* Should be a good team player and have experience working in multicultural team.
* Experience of working on sorghum and small millets desirable
Period and Remuneration:
The position is initially for 3 years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
