ICRISAT invites applications from all Indian nationals for the post of Scientific Officer, Genetic Resources to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.
Scientific Officer - Genetic Resources :
Responsibilities:
* Characterization, classification, regeneration, and evaluation of sorghum and small millet germplasm accessions.
* Data collection and organizing research operations in field and glass house.
* Analysis of data, data management, and preparing draft reports.
* Assist the scientist in managing research program.
Requirements:
* Post Graduate from a reputed university in botany/ plant breeding/genetics with 1-2 years of experience in field-based research at a research institute/university/private sector company, with good aptitude for field work.
* Proficiency in Computer skills (Ms- Office, data analysis, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Statistical skills in analyzing large data sets and communication skills in English (both written and oral)
* Should be a good team player and have experience working in multicultural team.
* Experience of working on sorghum and small millets desirable
Period and Remuneration:
The position is initially for 3 years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
