Location : Gurgaon
Role/Team Summary:
* This position is for a software designer within GBM Technology working on development of a Operations system from GBM India.
* The candidate must have between 4 to 6 years of IT experience including 3-4 years of core java development.
Essential Qualification :
1. Education – Clear and good track record throughout academics.
2. Engineering / MCA from recognized and reputed institute.
3. Sound knowledge in Java, XML (Parsing & Schema), XSLT, Velocity, Swings, Unix/Shell scripting, SVN, Ant & Design patterns.
4. Knowledge of Web services, Java Script.
5. Good knowledge of various Software Development Methodologies and ability to apply them to specific projects.
6. At minimum, methodologies should include:
7. Waterfall, RUP, Agile, Scrum, test driven development and continuous integration.
8. Strong in relational databases and SQL.
9. Knowledge of unit test frameworks, their implementation and process integration (JUnit, Selena, etc.)
Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
* Knowledge of Ajax, Velocity, Swings, etc.
* Development experience on Web and application servers like Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, JBoss etc.
* Investment Banking Back office knowledge and experience in systems or processes around trade life cycle. Familiarity with investment banking products,
* knowledge of derivatives, fixed income and money markets.
* Knowledge of Investment Banking cutting-edge technologies.

Role specific responsibilities:
* Working with business analysts and subject matter experts to turn business requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements, into technical specifications.
* Timely delivery of robust, quality, unit and system tested applications and components, and supporting deliverables (JUnit tests, test results, documentation etc.).
* Assist the Technical Lead with planning by providing robust estimates for development tasks.
* Regular and ad-hoc reporting to status/progress to Lead/Manager, including escalation of issues and exceptions.
* Clear articulation of progress against plan. Escalate, clearly define and own issues through to resolution.
