Job Description
Responsible for the configuration and day to day operation of all production servers and ensure the reliability and data integrity of each server with a goal of no unplanned down time. This includes ensuring that all systems are maintained at supported levels of operating systems, patches and code reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the configuration and day to day operation of all production Microsoft Servers in a global environment.
2. Responsible for recording and reviewing the operational effectiveness relative network capacity and storage requirements and assist with supporting and maintaining DAS, NAS, iSCSI SAN storage devices.
3. Participate in the advancement of Active Directory infrastructure including but not limited to OU structure, security and DFS implementation
4. Interacting with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions.
5. Performing software installations, maintenance and support, and related documentation within a production server environment.
6. Secure and monitor the corporate data by ensuring all servers are backed up and disaster recovery strategies are being executed.
7. Ensure that all system administrative access is secure and protected by working with the Security Administrator to ensure that proper security precautions are taken on all servers and networks.
8. Provide second level support to the Help Desk; assist other support representatives when required.
9. Documenting standards and operating procedures for all production Microsoft systems and acting as technical resource to the IT staff and systems users.
10. To be able to assist in ensuring a 99.99% availability of all network and systems components.
11. Participate in the disaster recovery efforts to protect the data assets of the corporation.

Educational Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Masters Degree in Computer Applications or other equivalent technical field. – Allowance for graduate engineers / technical diploma holders
Communication
1. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of internal and external personnel with emphasis on follow-through and reporting.
2. Must have excellent organization and technical documentation skills.
Personality Fit
1. Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
2. Ability to make modifications to the systems with little or no interruption of service.
3. Ability to organize projects and tasks according to priorities
4. A person in this position should be a good project leader and have the ability to communicate effectively project plans and status of projects.
5. Must be self-motivated and enjoy a sense of pride in their accomplishments.
Work Experience
1. 3 – 8 years work experience
2. Must have excellent working knowledge of the following area: Windows Server 2003, MCSE, TCP/IP, Business Awareness, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS network connectivity troubleshooting skills, basic Oracle and SQL Server maintenance skills.
3. Should have experience in installation of applications like IIS , Weblogic
4. Should have support environments with hosted applications
5. Experience in the following is preferred: Tivoli, backup-exec, Legato, backup strategies and technologies, NetApp, SAN, iSCSI, HP, IBM, DELL hardware.
6. Knowledge of windows scripting and Perl will be a plus
Miscellaneous
1. Ability to travel occasionally internationally and incur travel expenses until reimbursed by the company.
2. Ability to work shift work including weekend and evening shifts. Preference given to candidates that can work evening shift (US day shift).
