Job Description
The person in this position will work with US and Bangalore based Akamai Database and System Administrators supporting Akamai's 24x7 mission-critical Oracle databases. Tasks include software installation, database creation, system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity management, and tool development. This person will provide operational support during off-hours for US.

Basic Qualifications
1. Education: Bachelor's Degree
2. Overall Experience: 5-7 years or equivalent experience

1. Experience with Oracle database administration in production environment
2. Oracle 10g on Solaris and/or Linux
3. Database upgrade, patching and migration
4. Strong communication and documentation skills
5. Database monitoring and performance tuning
6. Data warehousing
7. PL/SQL
8. Shell and Perl scripting experience
9. Experience with key Oracle Technologies
10. RMAN
11. Dataguard
12. RAC
13. Grid Control
14. Streams
15. Experience supporting databases in specific application environments
16. E-Business, Siebel, and in-house software
17. DB2, SQL Server, or MySQL experience
