Applications in the prescribed format are invited from Indian citizens or such other nationalities as are declared eligible by the Govt. of India in accordance with the rules regulating the recruitment to the posts of Krishi Proyukti Sahayak under the Department of Agriculture, in the District offices under the Govt. of West Bengal. The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the Examination in the month of May, 2011 or thereabout simultaneously in Kolkata and other District Centres over the State.
KRISHI PROYUKTI SAHAYAK RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION, 2011
The examination will consist of one paper being sub-divided in two parts, viz. Part – I (Objective type) and Part – II (Conventional type).
Eligibility Conditions :
No of Posts : 1451. The number of vacancies may increase.
Qualification :
(i) Higher Secondary or equivalent examination from any recognized Board / Council.
(ii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not required for recruitment in the case of Nepali
speaking candidates from the Hill areas of District of Darjeeling).
Pay Scale : (PB-2) Rs.5,400-25,200/- + Grade Pay of Rs.2,900/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.9,600/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.
Age : 18 years to 37 years on 01.01.2010

Candidates must enclose with their applications a fee of Rs.160/- (Rupees One Hundred and Sixty) only by Indian Postal Order which must be purchased on a date after publication of this advertisement and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or by a receipted challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and Persons with Disabilities having disability of 40% and above
are not required to pay any fee.

Qualification:
A candidate must have the following qualifications which should be clearly stated in the application.
The qualifications prescribed in the advertisement are as per the notified recruitment rules issued by Govt. Candidates must fulfil the essential qualifications by the closing date.
(i) A degree of a recognized University.
(ii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for recruitment in the case of candidates from hill areas of the district Darjeeling, i.e. for Nepali speaking candidates).
Age: Min 21 years & Max 32 years
Examination :
The examination will be held in two successive stages, viz., (1) Preliminary Examination (Objective type) and (2) Main Examination (Conventional type – Written Examination) and Personality Test. The Preliminary Examination will be a screening test for selection of candidates for the Main Examination. The Preliminary Examination will be held at various centres in West Bengal in January, 2011 or thereabout. The Main Examination will be held in Kolkata only in June, 2011 or thereabout. The Personality Test of candidates to be selected on the results of the Main Examination (Written) will be held in Commission’s office in Kolkata. The number of vacancies will be announced later.
Application Fee :
Candidates must enclose with their applications a fee of Rs.210/- (Rupees two hundred ten) only in the form of Indian Postal Order which must be purchased on a date after publication of this advertisement and crossed and endorsed to THE SECRETARY, PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, WEST BENGAL, or in the form of a receipted challan from a Government Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001- Examination fees-16 other fees”. Money Orders, Cheques, Bank Drafts, Cash etc. will not be accepted. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (PWD) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee. The application without fee of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with the attested photocopy of SC/ST certificate issued by the competent authority of West Bengal in a prescribed format or Physical disability (40% and above) certificate issued by the competent authority. Page 4 of 5 BC candidates of West Bengal are, however, required to pay usual fee as aforesaid. NO EXEMPTION OF FEE IS AVAILABLE TO SC/ST/BC CANDIDATES OF OTHER STATES.
